The key points for assembling the piston and connecting rod assembly of a diesel generator are as follows:
1. Press-fitting the connecting rod bushing. A press machine is best used when installing the connecting rod bushing, but a vise can also be used. Never use a hammer to forcefully press it in. The oil holes or grooves on the bushing must be aligned with the oil holes on the connecting rod to ensure lubrication.
2. Assembling the piston and connecting rod. Pay attention to their relative positions and orientations when assembling the piston and connecting rod.
3. Properly installing the piston pin. The piston pin and pin hole are an interference fit. During installation, first heat the piston evenly in water or engine oil to 90℃~100℃. After removing it, place the connecting rod in the appropriate position between the piston pin seat hole and the piston pin, then install the piston pin, coated with engine oil, into the piston pin hole and connecting rod bushing in the predetermined direction.
4. Installing the piston rings. Pay attention to the position and order of each ring when installing them.
5. Installing the connecting rod assembly.
