The Cummins piston assembly consists of three parts: the piston body, piston rings, and piston pin. The piston body is made of high-strength cast aluminum alloy with a hard anodized surface treatment to improve wear resistance and high-temperature performance.

The piston rings include compression rings and oil rings. The compression rings seal the combustion chamber gases, while the oil rings control oil distribution and reduce carbon buildup. The piston pin is a hollow structure, made of low-carbon alloy steel using a carburizing and quenching process to balance strength and lightweight requirements.

Its design must be strictly matched with the bore, stroke, compression ratio, and other parameters of the QSB6.7 engine to ensure precise motion and reduce friction loss.
